   SENSORY DELIGHT

This culturally rich trend indulges the senses and adds a fresh lens to maximalist decorating styles. Balancing historic and contemporary design, the trend takes its cues from the faded architecture of the ‘pink city’ as well as the vibrant designs spilling out of the craft workshops of Jaipur, to combine the old with the new. This trend is culturally rich, primarily inspired by Indian heritage.
After true global travel disappeared, we turned to our homes for more inward adventures. Our interiors help to transport us to faraway lands, patterns of far-flung places provide a sense of escapism and make us feel relaxed as we are reminded of holidays or distant shores we want to visit.
Crafted design and exquisite workmanship blended with contemporary reimagining’s of pre-colonial design, are displayed alongside antique pieces and family heirlooms to create a new level of richness to explore. Soft geometrics feature across spaces, from ornately tiled flooring to rug designs, whilst plush tactile textures feature quilting providing comfort in our homes.
Tables are full of vibrant sharing platters for large gatherings and living rooms are patterned and adorned for elaborate entertaining. Bedrooms and bathrooms in contrast, are places of sanctuary and solitude.
Rich spices, fragrant aromas and heavily patterned textiles combine in a palette of knocked back pastel shades, inspired by the faded walls of grand palaces, shot through with rich jewel tone highlights. Warm apricot shades ground the palette, joined by vibrant pinks, soft mint
and bejewelled greens. Dusted blue looks chalky in appearance, whilst amethyst purple adds depth.
